We have been craving some adventure lately and craving it for the caribbean sea. I am ALWAYS craving adventure whether it’s shopping for market finds, traveling somewhere new and different, or searching the internet, I am always ready for an adventure. Every summer we travel to an unknown destination. Last summer is was San Pedro, Belize…. This summer I am not sure, although going back to San Pedro would be SUPER! My daughter is a new and avid diver so our destinations need to be where there is good diving (what a shame). I don’t dive but while I am there I can find some architecture and interior design to devour over. I found this resort and I thought I would share it with you in a Craving Adventure Post. It could possibly be our next destination.
Welcome to Azulik Resort
Azulik is located in Mexico at Riviera Maya, Tulum which is very close to the Tulum Mayan Ruins. Azulik has 15 private villas that sit on the cliffs and beaches of the Caribbean sea. There is NO ELECTRICITY (with the exception of the villa above and it’s only in during the day) OR PHONES here….meaning no internet or cell phone service so you are FORCED to relax. You either go on adventures to the ruins (that’s ME) or swim in the sea (my daughter) or stay in your villa all day and relax… aaahhhhhhhh I could do that too!
The construction of the villas consist of wood and thatched palm leaf roofs. All the villas have a terrace overlooking the sea and access to the the beach. Yep, I could stay a few weeks here no doubt!
All the villas have floor to ceiling windows so you can experience the sea from one side and the jungle from the other side.
Look at that bed (above)!!!!!
Check out that hand carved wooden tub. That is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

Yep I will be going here one day. Azulik caught my eye because it was not fancy or elegant like most resorts. It’s all about nature, the jungle, and the sea which is right up my alley!
What about you? Would you like to spend a few days or a few weeks in one of these villas? Could you live without electricity and phone service for a few days? eeekkkkksss….I am not sure I could but I would be willing to give it a try… would you??
