I am sure you have all seen the new HGTV Dream Home for 2013? If you haven’t you should check it out. I absolutely LOVE this home but what I like the most about it was the floor plan. It is an interesting floor because it isn’t just a box…it’s box with additive formations which create rooms.

I wanted to share my FAVORITE parts of this house with you today as my Friday Design Finds. The location of the house sits in a marsh on Kiawah Island in South Carolina. HGTV is labeling the style of the house as a “low zen coastal cottage” meaning  ”a bit of modern twist in a costal cottage” and that fits the style of the house PERFECT. I selected my favorite rooms in the house to share with you. Check them out below.

Front view (above). The landscaping accents this house in so many ways.

The back deck (above) has got to be my MOST favorite part of the house. The view overlooking the marsh is beautiful. I would spend most of my time on the deck if this was my house.

Master suite (above). I particularly like the end tables on each side of the bed. They are not matching end tables (which is cool) and they are not your standard end tables either. The left side end table (in the picture) is a sofa table and the right side end table is a chest of drawers. I like the way the designers implemented the use of these furniture pieces in the room. GOOD JOB!

The Master bathroom (above) is definitely cool. The two windows enclosing the tub are meant to represent art. Each view is a piece of art. Tall palm trees were planted outside the windows of the home on purpose so the homeowner could take a bath with a view of the tropics! Really good idea I think!

Great Room (above). I especially like the iron gate above the fireplace and all the windows showing the view to the marsh.

My second BEST favorite room in the house, the loft (above). It’s a cozy little nook above the great room that would make a perfect hide-a-way. Even better, you can see the architectural details (rafters in ceiling) up close in this room. GORGEOUS!!

Playroom (above). This is a playroom???? How NICE!

Twin Guest room (above). I liked this room because of the vivid color palette they used in the room. They used colors representing a costal collection and added a modern touch with the style of wallpaper! SUPER NICE!

These are my favorite rooms in the house. Take a tour of the house and tell me your favorite rooms! Don’t forget to register to WIN the house for the next 28 days. I will register and if I win you can come stay with me and vise versa!!

Happy Friday and Happy Weekend!
